Hi my name is Katie Becker. I am the owner of Salon BECK. I am a very laid back hairstylist, I am the type of person who can be a listener, a conversationalist, or someone who doesn’t need to talk during the entire service so that we can focus on the goal—Flawless hair that suits YOU.

What you can expect: I like to have thorough consultation before I begin every single hair or makeup service using photos to exemplify the look we’re inspired by. My favorite way to choose a hair style and hair color that is customized to each clients needs, wants and lifestyle is to find an inspiration photo where the person has a similar face shape, hair texture and personal style to YOU—That way our goals are REALISTIC.

THINGS I LOVE:

I love to indulge in the little things that each season brings and I love to travel. I usually take several vacations throughout the year so that I am is able to come back refreshed and inspired to give my clients the best possible version of myself. I’m a Taurus and an astrology lover. I love the outdoors and anything water-related. I love anything fashion or skincare-related, So please share your favorite runway looks and skincare hacks/ finds!

I also love to cook, and I love EDM. I recently became a mommy and have two animals, a cat (Sasha) and a dog (Lana— P.S. she comes to work with me regularly). Last year my husband and I purchased a very cool MCM home that i’m loving to decorate/ renovate. I wanted to share this with you so that we can connect on a personal level too.

I became a Stylist in 2012. I continually dedicate my time to furthering my education. I always say that I am an eternal student in all aspects of my life. My hope is to share with my clients my passions for hair, and fashion and inspire them to find their own personal style.  

I have been educated by some of the industries leaders including Janell Geason, Geno Chapman, James Ryder, Tracey Cunningham, Sarai Speer, NineZeroOne, Sharon Blain, Niki Lee, Nanci Lee, Gardner Edmonds, Mike Varela, Nick Morales, Kim Haberly aka Boho Blonde, and am trained and certified in the Combline Method. I am well versed in Sassoon, Toni & Guy, and French Haircutting techniques. I’m currently working towards building my editorial portfolio. In the past, i’ve worked on set producing hair and makeup for the new Nike Univeristy videos (2018) and behind the scenes of my favorite small business' in town. My favorite places to get inspiration are fashion history books, illustration blogs, fashion publications, and the streets of places around the world. I want to bring Portland a bit of my beauty philosophy with a simple, sexy and tasteful approach. one that works for anyone and everyone.
